Terms of Service

Last updated: July 7, 2026

1. Who we are

Scholright is operated by Scholright LLC, a limited liability company organized in North Carolina, United States (“Scholright,” “we,” “us”). These Terms govern your use of the Scholright application and your purchases of Scholright products. By installing the app or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms and to our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy.

2. What you're buying

Scholright products are digital licenses, sold as one-time purchases (no subscription): (a) a language pack, which unlocks that pack's full content and the app's features; and (b) a Pro app license, which unlocks the app's authoring, import, and sharing features for use with your own content. A free trial of each language is available before purchase. Product descriptions, features, and prices are shown on our Pricing page.

3. Payments and our reseller

Our order process is conducted by an authorized third-party online reseller and Merchant of Record. That reseller is the merchant of record for all orders; it handles the transaction, provides your receipt, and manages billing enquiries and refunds. Its own buyer terms and privacy notice apply to your purchase, and we are not a party to that payment contract. Prices are shown at checkout in your local currency where available and are inclusive of applicable taxes, which the reseller collects and remits.

4. Your license

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the content and features you have purchased, for your own learning. A paid license is activated to a single device and is not a transferable file. You can move it to a new device whenever you like — for example, when you replace your phone — but it stays active on only one device at a time. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, sublicense, or share paid content, or run it on more than one device, and you may not remove, bypass, or circumvent the technical measures that protect it. Paid content cannot be exported or shared through the app's sharing feature. To confirm a purchase remains valid, paid content verifies its license from time to time when your device is online; a license from a refunded, reversed, or revoked payment is deactivated, and its content locks.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Scholright to infringe others' rights, to pirate or redistribute paid content (ours or third-party creators'), or to circumvent its protections. Content you create or import remains yours; you're responsible for having the right to use it.

6. The app

The core app works fully offline and requires no account. It does not track you, contain advertising, or transmit your study data (see our Privacy Policy). Paid content verifies its license occasionally when online — a purchase check, not tracking (see §4). Any other optional network feature is opt-in, initiated by you, and clearly described before it runs.

7. Warranty disclaimer

The app and content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will make you fluent. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you as a consumer.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scholright's total liability arising from your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms; the “last updated” date will change and material changes will be reflected here. Your continued use after an update means you accept it.

10. Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence. Questions? Email support@scholright.com.
